![]() What could be more romantic than April in Paris, the city of lovers? You can’t go to Paris and not see the Eiffel Tower. This is an excellent example of the late 19th century engineering and architecture. It was built in 1889 and soars 984 ft in the air and weighs 7000 tons (how do they know that?) Want a romantic place to ask her to marry you? Try the Eiffel Tower. Awesome views and you are both on top of the world. Would could say no?
![]() See the wonder of Notre Dame Cathedral. Construction started on this awesome building in 1163 and wasn’t finished until 180 years later! Unfortunately, during the 18th century, the population didn’t pay much attention to buildings of the Middle ages, to the point of replacing some of the beautiful stained glass with regular glass. We can credit much of the restoration of the Notre Dame Cathedral to Victor Hugo, Ingres and other artists for bringing the deplorable state of the cathedral and raising awareness of it’s artistic value. Restoration began in 1844 and lasted 23 years.
![]() Ah, Paris in springtime. Gardens, museums, art galleries, side walk cafes and creamy cappuccinos with buttery croissants, shopping, shopping, shopping, a romantic river cruise down the Seine. Oh and don’t forget the festivals. Do you love Jazz? Jazz Sous Les Pommiers or Jazz under the Apple Trees festival in Normandy begins in late April until early May. There is also Grandes Eaux Musicales de Versailles where you can watch the water acrobatics of the 50 fountains of the Versailles Palace’s gardens set to music. ![]() |
